Slocomb

In the late 1800's those traveling on the Central of Georgia trains considered our town "the main stop" between Atlanta, Georgia and Mobile, Alabama.

We like to remember those historical days so we hold traditional celebrations annually, however, we are also realists and take a progressive stance when it comes to improving both economic and living conditions in our town.

Slocomb is in a state of transition-moving from an aged to modern infrastructure-moving from one century to the next-moving to become part   of the region rather than remaining a lone town in a highly competitive nation-We are a growing town.

Tourist and retirees will find Slocomb hospitable and excellent place to visit or settle.  From here you can travel to the large metropolitan city of Dothan, Al. in a matter of minutes, travel to beaches and tourist attractions in less than two hours, go hunting or fishing, play golf and enjoy beautiful parks including our own.

Then, there is the Tomato Festival-where for one day a year the locally grown, most delicious red fruit in the world, becomes the focal point of a hugh celebration.

And finally, let us tell you that our town welcomes business, industries and entrepreneurs.  We have excellent workforce , town officials will assist in "smoothing the bumps" to get you started and will continue to help as you strive to reach long term goals.
