Eufaula, the county seat of Barbour County,
has a little bit of everything for everybody. Nowhere else will you find more natural
beauty and opportunities for outdoor adventures.
Eufaula has been a delightful place to live since its
inception in 1814. The town of 13,220 people boasts a low cost of living, a low crime
rate, and a mild climate conducive to year-round activities.
For entertainment, there are annual festivals, boat races,
rodeos, county fairs, and the annual Pilgrimage, which gives you a chance to stroll
through the historic homes of Eufaula and surrounding towns. Locals love to go to the
Eufaula Little Theatre for a play or attend the Eufaula Concert Series, which features
such acts as the Glen Miller, Tommy Dorsey, and Guy Lombardo Orchestras.
Lake Eufaula, a beautiful 45,000-square acre waterway, is
known as the "Bass Capital of the World". If dishing isn't your forte, you've
got plenty of alternatives for outdoor adventure. Like hiking or camping in one of two
state parks in the area, golfing at one of three golf courses,
observing animals and birds in the nearby wildlife refuge, or hunting on public and
private hunting areas.
