     The area's excellent air, rail, and road transportation networks reduce the cost and time of shipping a product.  Geographically well positioned, some 50 percent of the U.S. population is with a 24-hour shipping distance.  The past few years have seen tremendous growth in international trade.  Imports and exports have risen to record numbers, as international companies locate in the region and local companies take advantage of the global market.
