About This Site

The Southeast Alabama Economic Development Partnership web site is designed to provide the most comprehensive economic development information about Southeast Alabama.  This web site was created through funding from the Economic Development Administration and the Southeast Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission.  Through a partnership with local and state organizations, the content for the site was built and will be maintained.  Because this is a dynamic and growing entity, please be sure to check back often for continued updates and improvements.

How To Use This Site

This site is broken up into five unique categories: Industry, Tourism, Agriculture, Retirement, and Entrepreneurial/Small Business.  By clicking on one of the images at the top of the first page, you can enter the corresponding section.  Using the expanding menu on the left side of the first page, you can navigate directly to the subsections of each section.  The large map of the United States with Alabama superimposed links you to the county profiles for the member counties of the industry section.   The first page of each section consists of links to its subsections, a text scroller for general information, and changing images of the area.  To navigate to another section of the site, simply click on the Partnership Home option on the section home page in order to return to the site home page.  The most comprehensive and detailed information possible has been included in each section.

Industry

By clicking on one of the five sections, you will find detailed information on the relevant subject.  In Find Us, you will find maps displaying the area's geographic location in relation to the eastern United States.  By clicking on the yellow Southeast Alabama section of the map, you can progressively zoom in on the area.  On the final zoom, you are taken to the Industry Site Map.

The Industry Site Map is a layered map designed to easily provide you with desired information.  By clicking on the corresponding buttons, you can turn on and off any layer of the map.   For Netscape users, the "lbl" buttons allow you to turn on the labels for the corresponding layer.  This map is compatible only with version 4.0 or higher of both Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator/Communicator.

Tourism

The eight subsections of tourism can be explored from the opening page.  Like the industry section, the location section provides geographic maps that progressively zoom in by clicking on the yellow Southeast Alabama section on each map.   The final zoom takes you to the Tourism Site Map.

The Tourism Site Map is a layered map designed to easily provide you with desired information.

Agriculture

The four subsections of agriculture provide detailed information on their corresponding topics.  You will find descriptions as well as statistical information located throughout the section.

Retirement

The six subsections of retirement provide information about retirement in general and specific information about member communities.  The Alabama Advantage subsection serves not only as a part of this site, but also as the web site for the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs' retirement department (Alabama Advantage).  Alabama Advantage provides information about retiring in Alabama, while the other subsections provide specific information about retiring in Southeast Alabama.   Like the industry and tourism sections, the location section provides geographic maps that progressively zoom in by clicking on the yellow Southeast Alabama section on each map.  The final zoom takes you to the Retirement Sites Map.

The Retirement Sites Map illustrates the location of the member communities as well as providing a link to additional information for each.  By clicking on a city location, the corresponding information is provided.   The information for each city is quite extensive.

Entrepreneurial/Small Business

The five subsections of this section provide links and contact information to some of the best resources on and off the web.  The Entrepreneur/Small Business of the month profiles a local business doing some great things.
