Prime Farmland in Southeast Alabama

Prime agricultural land is defined as land best suited for producing food, forage, fiber, and oilseed crops. As such, prime land may be planted in crops or may be used as pastures, ranges, or forests. It must not be developed or cannot be subject to flooding. Prime land must have soil quality and characteristics, growing season and moisture supply needed to produce sustained high yields of crops in an economical manner when treated and managed according to modern farming methods.
